YouTube Shorts adds Veo 2 so that creators can make Gen Ai videos
YouTube Shorts is integrated with the latest video model from Google Deepmind, Veo 2, allowing creators to generate AI video clips for their messages.
I see 2 Is Google’s response SoraOPENAI video text generator. YouTube, belonging to Google, has already allowed creators to generate AI backgrounds for their shorts with a text prompt via a functionality called Dream screen. But Veo 2 will allow creators to generate autonomous video clips to add to one of their shorts.
According to a blog post of the director of the product YouTube Dina Berrada, these AI tools will work faster than before.
“Veo 2 understands better the physics of the real world and human movement, which makes its production more detailed and realistic,” wrote Berrad. “You can even specify a style, a goal or a cinematographic effect, make the dream screen an easy and fun way to express yourself.”

To indicate that these videos were made using the AI, they will use DeepMind’s synthetic tool, which has a watermark and identifies the content generated by AI. YouTube also said that these videos will be clearly marked as being made with AI – but these labels do not completely cut the potential damage to the sharing of synthetic content which can induce the viewers induced in error.
To use Veo 2 in YouTube shorts, creators can open the camera camera, select the green screen, then access the dream screen, where they can enter a text prompt to generate a video.
This feature will be launched Thursday for any creator in the United States, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. YouTube plans to extend access later.
