The functionality has been identified in the latest beta version of the iOS application, although it remains in development, and beta testers cannot currently access it.
As noted by the WhatsApp Wabetainfo feature tracker, the instant messaging service works on a feature that allows users to add their Instagram profile links. This was discovered in the WhatsApp for version 25.2.10.72 of the IOS beta application, which is accessible via the Beta Testflight program.
It is important to emphasize that this feature is not yet operational in this version. A screenshot shared by the functional tracker indicates that the new option will be integrated into the links section of the user profile interface.
This section will include a new option entitled Liens Add, allowing users to enter their Instagram username by selecting a Plus icon. The functionality tracker has indicated that, at present, the functionality does not require that users authenticate the profile they add, which means that they can simply enter the username to display the Instagram profile on their account.

However, this approach can raise concerns about privacy and identity theft. The company is expected to implement an authentication process before the public version of the functionality. Above all, this feature should be optional, allowing iOS users the choice to connect their Instagram profiles if they wish.
A similar capacity is already available for commercial accounts on WhatsApp, although these users must manually connect to their Instagram accounts to check the profile link. Although the current implementation is limited to Instagram links, WhatsApp may extend this functionality to include other meta accounts, such as Facebook and Threads.
