Tata Technologies data disclosed by a ransomware gang
A group of ransomware called Hunters International published some of the data she claims to have stolen from Tata Technologies, just over a month after Indian society confirmed a ransomware attack This led to the suspension of certain services.
Data disclosed, published on the Dark Web Dark Leak site of the Gang – which Techcrunch has seen – includes personal details on certain current and old employees of Tata Technologies, as well as confidential information, including company orders and contracts with customers in India and the United States.
The Ransomware gang indicates that the data set includes more than 730,000 documents, including Excel calculation sheets, PowerPoint presentations and PDF files, totaling approximately 1.4 teraoctets.
At the end of January, Tata Technologies informed the Indian scholarships on a ransomware attack which affected “some” of the company’s IT assets. At the time, Tata said that its customer services “remained entirely functional and not affected throughout”.
It is not clear if the data downloaded by the Ransomware International Hunters group is linked to the attack on ransomware that Tata Technologies revealed earlier this year. When reached several times by Techcrunch, Tata representatives have not yet provided any comments.
Founded in 1989 as an automotive aité of Tata Motors, Tata Technologies took place as a distinct company in 1994 and has since operated as a subsidiary of the Tata Indian conglomerate group.
TATA Technologies provides engineering and research and product development services to manufacturers of aerospace equipment and engineering companies in 27 countries. The company has 20 delivery centers and more than 12,500 employees, by its website.

Hunters International also seems to have links with the Hive ransomware gang, that law enforcement organizations disturbed In 2023. The Ruche gang has disclosed some of the stolen data by another Tata group company, Tata Power, in 2022.
