Rivian opens sales of commercial vans to all companies
Rivian will sell his commercial electric vans to any American company who wants one – more than a year since the end of an exclusivity agreement with Amazon Backer.
The company will sell two vans – the smallest and the 700 largest – but buyers must be registered companies, depending on the company. This means that all truckers of hope will have to wait and see if Rivian never sells them directly.
The launch of its Van de Van de Van business activity opens a potential source of income that has been dormant from Rivian and Amazon ended their exclusive agreement In November 2023. The new potential activity section arrived at a crucial time for the company, which does everything it can to reduce the losses before The launch of a more posted SUV next year.
Rivian was spotted by performing a number of Tests with potential fleet customers. And the manufacturer of electric vehicles spent last year preparing a commercial fleet line for a wider band of companies, which included the creation of service infrastructure, digital infrastructure and the collection of comments via pilots of Fleet customers, according to spokesperson Tanya Miller.
“During the past year, we have focused our efforts on the tests with larger fleets, and we are really satisfied with how these trials have disappeared,” said Tom Solomon, Senior Director of Commercial Development of Rivian, in a press release.
Rivian began producing commercial vans in 2021, two years after Amazon announced that he had commanded 100,000 of vehicles as part of an effort to reduce its climate impact. Amazon was already deeply invested in Rivian when he concluded the exclusivity agreement for commercial vans. Seven months earlier, the electronic commerce giant led a $ 700 million in investment in Rivian.
Amazon now has 20,000 commercial vans produced by Rivian in its fleet, according to Solomon.
