Google adds a gemini panel to the calendar to help you manage your schedule

Google is Test a new Gemini side panel powered by AI In the Google calendar which allows users to check quickly and check their schedule, create an event and search for the details of the event. The functionality is available as part of the technology giant early access test program, Google Workspace Labs.

You can access Gemini by clicking on the “Ask Gemini” icon at the top right of your Google calendar window. You can then select a suggested prompt or write yours.

For example, Gemini can suggest that you add a “lunch event” or “find the next meeting” you have with someone.

If you want more suggestions, you can select the “More Suggestions” option.

You can also write your own prompts, as “when is my next meeting with Emily”? “How many meetings do I have on Monday?” Or “add a weekly training every Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6 am”.

The idea behind the functionality is to get rid of the need to look manually or add things to your calendar by taking advantage of Gemini’s conversation capacities to get things done more quickly.

Google Calendar is the last workspace application to obtain a Gemini side panel, because it is already available in Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Cat. It is not known when the panel will deploy more users.
