Facebook Parent Meta joins Apple in the race to develop humanoid robots

Meta, the Facebook parent company, made important investments in AI humanoid robots, as Bloomberg reported. The company aims to develop robots capable of performing tasks similar to those of humans, especially to help physical activities.

To facilitate this initiative, Meta established a dedicated team within its material division of reality. Initially, the emphasis will be placed on the creation of robots designed for household chores; However, the wider objective is to innovate AI, sensors and software that can be produced and marketed with third -party companies, allowing them to create their own robotic solutions.

Meta aspires to become the main platform for robotic technology, similar to Android in the smartphones industry. Although current robotic technology does not yet take care of tasks such as laundry folding or washing dishes, Meta thinks that the progress of artificial intelligence and virtual reality will improve the development of robotics.

By 2025, the company plans to allocate around $ 65 billion to AI infrastructure, robotics and virtual reality products.

Meta intends to manufacture part of its equipment while collaborating with robotics companies to develop prototypes. If Meta succeeds in creating a humanoid robot, he can find himself in competition with a robot designed by Apple in the future.

Apple also explores humanoid and non -humanoid robots, with its humanoid projects still in the concept proof phase and several years of market preparation.

On the other hand, non -humanoid robots may be available earlier, with reports indicating that Apple develops a table robot with an iPad type display mounted on a robotic arm, potentially launched from 2026 or 2027.
