DOGE Cisa ‘Red Team’ Staffters in federal cuts
Elon Musk government efficiency department (DOGE) has dismissed more than a hundred employees working for the cybersecurity agency of the United States government CISA, including the staff of “Team”, two people affected by layoffs in Techcrunch.
People, who asked not to be appointed, said the employees affected had been chopped immediately when their access to the network was revoked without prior warning.
The layoffs, which took place at the end of February and early March, are the latest reductions in the staff members to strike the Federal Cybersecurity Agency since the Trump administration.
CISA spokesperson Tess Hyre refused to comment on the last series of job cuts affecting the agency and would not say how many employees had been assigned. Hyre told Techcrunch that the Red Cisa team “remains operational”, but said that the agency “examined all the contracts to ensure that they align with the priorities of the new administration”.

One of the affected people told Techcrunch that employees of the Red Cisa team, who simulate real world attacks to identify safety weaknesses in networks before attackers, were affected by the reinforced cuts of the DOGE.
Another person affected by layoffs, who asked to remain anonymous due to the fear of government reprisals, told Techcrunch that dismissed employees also include staff members who worked for the CISA, or CIRT-incident response team, or CIRT, who is responsible for penetration and management of the vulnerability of networks belonging to the services and organizations of the American federal government.
“Regarding what will happen to these government systems, I have no knowledge,” said the person.
The person said that in total, more than 80 employees supporting continuous surveillance had been dismissed and between 30 and 50 employees working in the response to incidents.
One of the affected employees tells Techcrunch that they are now looking for “Doge -resistant concerts”.
“DOGE felt like a ballistic missile without a system of orientation,” said the person.
It is by our counting the third known round of job cuts to assign CISA employees since January 20. More than 130 CISA employees were cut by Doger earlier in February, according to reportsAnd Several CISA employees working on election safety have been placed on leave in January.
