Apple provides heart rate monitoring to PowerBeats Pro 2
Apple Tuesday announced the long -awaited beginning of PowerBeats Pro 2 headphones. The new headphones arrive almost six years after Original powerbeats hit the market. The new model maintains the familiar ear hook for training, while offering an improved sound, better battery life and a wireless load box.
The headphones also mark a next major step in the company’s offer to expand its health care characteristics, with the addition of integrated heart rate monitoring. The functionality triggers during training sessions, offering real -time data via LED optical sensors.
In addition to Apple’s own health application, surveillance is compatible with a number of most important fitness applications, including Open, Peloton, Runna, Soltes, Ladder, Nike Run Club and Yaoyao. One of the most popular applications, Strava, is visibly absent from the list.

PowerBeats are developing an Apple Health wallet that currently revolves around the Apple Watch. While elements such as the monitoring of the stages have existed since the first days, Apple has since been on health. The watch now offers ECG readings, autumn detection, sleep monitoring and various other features aimed at providing a complete image of the wearer’s health.
Apple’s health suite also branched in 2024, with the addition of A hearing aid function For AirPod Pro 2. The arrival of heart rate monitoring on the Beats line could announce the addition of the functionality to the next AirPods updates – although this would require major hardware refresh.
Apple brand earphones are also more general lifestyle products, compared to the PowerBeats fitness.
The new headphones have been improved from Apple W2 to its H2 chip, which made its debut on Airpods Pro 2 in 2022. This continues to be the high -end Apple helmet chip until the company presents AirPods Pro 3 on a future date.

Apple cites owner silicon as the driving force of improvements in battery life. The buds themselves wear 10 hours of battery, compared to the nine of their predecessor. More impressive, however, is the case, which improves the total battery life from 24 to 45 hours, a feat that the company has managed while reducing the imprint of the sadly massive case of PowerBeats Pro.
Apple also praising sound quality improvements, thanks to the addition of space audio with head follow -up – the same comeling of the noise found on AirPods Pro 2 – and its adaptive EQ technology, which adjusts the quality of the ‘Audio to match the carrier’s ear.
Familiar ear hooks now wear a nickel alloy, for better resistance, while the overall weight of buds decreased by 20%.

Apple says he tested the pros on 1,000 athletes to try to create a more universal adjustment. The headphones also wear a resistance rating of IPX4 sweat resistance – the same note found on AirPods. In addition to the wireless load, the headphones exchange the lightning of their predecessor for USB-C.
PowerBeats Pro 2 are available online from today, at a price of $ 250 – like their predecessors in 2019. They hit the stores this Thursday, February 13.
Apple missed the Super Bowl with its ad, but that does not prevent the company from spending an advertisement charge, with mentions of stars athletes, including LeBron James, Lionel Messi and Shohei Ohtani.
