Apple M4 MacBook Air Practical: Sky blue color is so subtle
Apple’s news M4 MacBook Air is here, with a new chip, a new price and a new color offered. I took it for a quick rotation.
Apple sent me the 15 inch variant of the new MacBook Air in the new “Sky Blue” color, with a M4, 16 GB chip and 1 TB of storage space. I haven’t spent enough time with that to tell you if it is a good purchase, but I can say one thing: the color of the sky blue will only shine under a certain light.
So, so subtle.
Pulling the new air from his box, I thought there must have been an error, because the thing seemed gray in my eyes. It is only after a direct comparison with my 16 -inch MacBook Pro, I was able to determine that the apparatus that Apple sent me a blue shade.

Lighter, thinner and slightly more colorful than a 16 -inch silver MacBook Pro.

In its marketing documents, Apple said that the air “creates a dynamic gradient when the light is reflected on its surface”, and it does, but you need this light to see it. In other words, do not expect people to notice your new fantasy air unless it arises in the sun. Oh, and if you wondered, the Magsafe load cable that you get with it is accompanied by colors.
Enough on color (the new air is also available at midnight, in light of stars and money). The new air, as I expected, was incredibly elegant and light next to my MacBook Pro massif. With a 15-inch LED display and 2.7 pounds in weight, it is certainly not a small laptop, but I think it always deserves the nickname “air”, if barely.

What else is new?
This year MacBook Air seems to be a matter of refinement. He looks and weighs the same as the last, but he has the new faster M4 chip, he starts with more RAM (16 GB), he has a face -faced camera of 12 megapixels well necessary, and he starts at $ 999 (against $ 1099) for the 13 -inch variant, however; The 15 inch that I tested starts at $ 1,199.

You get a matching Magsafe load cable in the box.

This is actually many improvements, and even if I did not have time to really put the new M4 chip to the test, the new air seems to be obvious if you are looking for an elegant and portable apple laptop.
Of course, the screen does not become as bright as that of my pro, but having them both side by side, both on maximum brightness, I don’t really notice a big difference. The fact that air display only supports the refresh rate of 60 Hz while the pro goes to 120 Hz is noticeable when things move on the screen.

No USB-C ports on the right side; You only get a 3.5 mm headphone jack there.

And yes, air could certainly use more ports. He has only the Magsafe port (if you have wondered, the chariot cable you get with it is accompanied by colors), two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. This could be particularly important if you plan to use the new air with two external monitors, which you can now – these two Thunderbolt ports probably do not cut it for all your needs.
Stay listening for a more in -depth assessment to find out if the new air is worth your money. For the moment, however, it seems to be a winner.
