Huawei Watch 5 secures water certification, confirms cellular connectivity

Huawei’s 5 watch has been identified in the TDRA water TDRA certification database, signaling an imminent launch. The standard model, designated as SOC-Al00 (ER42369 / 25) recording, is the “GSM module” category, confirming its cellular connectivity capacity via GSM networks.

This feature allows users to make calls, send messages and access to mobile data independently of a smartphone. Although certification does not reveal other specifications, previous leaks indicate that the Watch 5 series will be available in six color variations and will operate on Harmonyos.

Battery performance improvements and health monitoring features are planned compared to its predecessor, the Watch 4 series.

Huawei should present the laptop at a summer event, alongside other products. Although design details are not specified, Huawei says that watch 5 will include a more rationalized appearance.

The water list suggests an initial regional launch, but global availability has not yet been confirmed. To get an overview of the next smart watch, we can examine its predecessor, the Huawei Watch 4, which was published in May 2023.

The Huawei Watch 4 has a 1.5 inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a pixel density of 310 ppi. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

In terms of health and physical form monitoring, the watch includes a heart rate monitor, a SPO2 sensor, ECG capacities, skin temperature monitoring, stress assessment, arterial rigidity indicator and respiratory health measures.

It offers a complete overview of a minute of seven points of seven points and supports more than 100 training modes, has an AI racing coach and includes the autumn detection with an immediate SOS function.
