Air dimensions iPhone 17 Leak, suggests thin glasses like iPhone 16 pro max

The iPhone 17 Air should be the thinnest smartphone in Apple in several years, with details on the device that emerged online. A source revealed that the iPhone 17 air will have a thickness of 5.5 mm, while its length and width should be comparable to those of the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

If this information is correct, the air of the iPhone 17 could be approximately 0.34 mm thinner than the next Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which should be launched next month. According to an article in the User Ice universe on X (formerly Twitter), iPhone 17 air will share the same dimensions and the same screen size as the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The source says that, apart from the thickness, the dimensions of the two models will line up with those of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which suggests that the iPhone 17 air and the iPhone 17 Pro could measure 163 mm in height and 77.6 mm in width.

The leak also indicates that the iPhone 17 air will include a 6.9 -inch LTPO AMOLED screen, which is 0.2 mm larger than that of the iPhone 16 Plus, the model it should succeed later this year. In addition, the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max would have the same thin display glasses as the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Unlike Apple’s flagship models, the iPhone 17 air would be 5.5 mm thick, much thinner than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which should measure the thickness of 8.7 mm. However, although the flagship model should include three rear cameras, the iPhone 17 air should have a single rear camera because of its thin design.

A recent report has also suggested that the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max can all have an aluminum frame. Apple has gone from titanium stainless steel to its pro models with the iPhone 15 Pro, while its standard models used aluminum frames for several years. Conversely, iPhone 17 air should incorporate a titanium frame, according to the report.
