The internal communications acquired by Reuters indicate that the company will also accelerate the recruitment of automatic learning engineers simultaneously. Releases should have an impact on many countries, including the United States.
However, employees in Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands will be exempt from these layoffs due to local labor laws. Conversely, staff of more than a dozen other countries across Europe, Asia and Africa will receive their notifications between February 11 and February 18.
Meta previously announced its intention to reduce its workforce by around 5%, focusing on the “lower interpreters”, certain roles planned to be fulfilled.
The company characterized these reductions as “performance endings”, a term initially reported by information. Unlike previous layoff cycles, Meta chose to keep her operational offices on Monday and refrain from providing additional information concerning these decisions, as indicated in a memo by Janelle Gale, the chief of Meta.

In a separate communication published Friday, Peng Fan, Vice-President of Meta Monetization Engineering, encouraged employees to support an accelerated hiring initiative for automatic learning engineers and other engineering roles essential. This accelerated effort of hiring should occur between February 11 and March 13.
